Shiv Nadar UniversityVellore Institute of Technology offers Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA) at its School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE). The programme duration is of 3 years. VIT is grade A++ university according to the NAAC, MHRD grading system.

The programme provides knowledge of various domains in computer science, information technology and programming practice like digital computer fundamentals, computational thinking, Linux/Unix Programming, programming in C, data structures, Java Programming, database management systems and security.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the BCA program at VIT is as follows:

  • The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream with minimum 60% marks with Mathematics / Business Mathematics / Applied Mathematics as one of the subjects.
  • Candidates appearing for their Class 12th exams are also eligible to apply.

Selection Process

The selection process for the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program at VIT is very simple:

  • Entrance exam is not considered for admissions
  • The admissions are based only on the basis of 10+2 marks and subject of study (i.e. Computer Science)

Selection Process:

  • After the submission of application form, the university will shortlist candidates on the basis of their marks as mentioned above. The shortlisted candidates will be called for the counseling process, and will be provided admission depending upon the cut-off and availability of seats.
